Fuel Injectors

As the automotive industry transitions to more complex fuel injection systems, such as high-pressure gasoline direct injection, original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and the high performance aftermarket will require science-based, technology solutions to address broader engineering and marketplace demands. Nostrum injectors and dilute combustion systems are uniquely positioned to provide superior solutions for future OEM and current aftermarket engines.

The high flow Kinetic Gasoline Direct Injection (K-DITM) injector will be available in early 2016. The injector has been designed to work with existing engines so the manufacturing infrastructure required to build new engines does not need to be modified at all, saving the automotive industry hundreds of millions of dollars. The injector is also designed as a direct fit option for both high performance and fuel efficiency aftermarket applications.


Kinetic Gasoline Direct Injection (K-DITM)

  • Proprietary kinetic particle break-up mechanism with patented nozzles provide smaller droplet sizes, superior fuel atomization, accurate controllability, and shorter liquid lengths versus leading conventional injectors
  • High flow, high performance applications (high flow rates)
    • Nostrum K-DITM injectors deliver flow rates of up to 35 grams per second, more than twice the average stock flow rate of 14.7.
    • The first Nostrum products for 2.0L Ecotec turbo engines flow approximately 21g/sec and can fuel more than 800hp, while still providing excellent fuel vaporization and good quality combustion.
  • Application specific spray targeting to meet the needs of each engine’s combustion system
    • Nostrum K-DITM injectors offer plume angle ranges from 35 to 110 degrees and plume targeting angles from 0 to 35 degrees, enabling cleaner, more efficient combustion to produce more power safely and with control. There are no other aftermarket high flow injectors that offer this capability for direct injection.
  • High-flow K-DITM injectors are the only aftermarket injectors to allow liquid lengths 30 to 40 percent shorter than conventional multi-hole injectors. This helps minimize wall impingement and oil dilution to provide cleaner and more efficient combustion. There are no other aftermarket high flow injectors for direct injection that offer these types of short liquid lengths.
