Nostrum Energy Named Semi-Finalist for Inaugural Securing America’s Future Energy (SAFE) Energy Security Prize Emerging Innovation Award

Nostrum Energy’s Nostrum Cycle Recognized for Enhancing Automotive Engine Efficiency and Reducing U.S. Dependence on Oil

Washington, D.C., October 2, 2013 Nostrum Energy , a technology company that creates breakthrough fuel efficiency improvements for stationary and automotive power, today announced that it has been named a semi-finalist for the Emerging Innovation Award in Securing America’s Future Energy ’s (SAFE) Energy Security Prize competition. Nostrum Energy is being recognized for the Nostrum Cycle™, an innovative technology proven to provide unprecedented fuel economy improvements and emissions reductions in today’s internal combustion engine. This will be achieved without requiring changes in infrastructure or consumer behavior.

The winners will be announced at a major national energy conference, OPEC Oil Embargo +40: A National Summit on Energy Security , at the Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium in Washington, D.C. on October 16, 2013. The SAFE Energy Security Prize recognizes companies whose ingenuity, leadership, and perseverance are poised to advance American energy security by helping bring an end to U.S. oil dependence. The Emerging Innovation Award recognizes companies whose technologies are driving fundamental improvements in energy security, and that have the potential to reach the market within the next five years.

Currently, the internal combustion engine in automobiles wastes up to 75 percent of the energy from fuel. To stem this waste and increase fuel efficiency, Nostrum Energy has developed a redesigned fuel injector, which can be installed in any vehicle and immediately result in a double-digit gain in miles per gallon. The redesigned fuel injector is the first in a series of innovations that comprise the Nostrum Cycle™, which will double or triple the amount of energy from fuel that goes to the wheel.
